Join Crooked Tree Photographic Society member, Gretchen Dorian, and Charlevoix Photography Club founder, Mike Schlitt, as they present the many opportunities our area photography clubs have to offer photographers from hobbyists to professionals.
About Mike Schlitt:
Mike’s mission as a Photographic Artist is to re-introduce Michigan, not as the automotive capitol of the world, but as one of the most beautiful places in the country, in all four seasons.
Mike lives in Charlevoix, Michigan and is the founder of the Charlevoix Photography Club. He has been very fortunate to have traveled to many places around the globe and feels lucky to call Charlevoix his home. See Mike’s work: www.schlitt.com.
About Gretchen Dorian:
Gretchen was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and grew up sailing on Lake St. Clair, near Detroit, MI. She graduated in Photography from the Paier College of Art, Hamden, CT.
Her photographs have been exhibited at the Devos Art Museum, Marquette, MI; Midland Center for the Arts, Midland MI; Scarab Club, Detroit, MI; Dennos Museum, Traverse City, MI; Prague Art Museum, Czech Republic . At the Crooked Tree Arts Center of Petoskey, MI, the 2015 Summer Exhibition “Wind & Sail” featured her photographs. Gretchen’s photographs have won numerous awards including publication in the 2013 Best of Photography Annual.
Gretchen specializes in boat photography, whether sail or power, on water or ice!
Her photographs have been published in Wooden Boat Magazine, ESPN Magazine, SAIL Magazine, Sailing World Magazine, Lakeland Boating Magazine and Outside Bozeman Magazine.
Online publications include the Wall Street Journal, Sailing Scuttlebutt, Sailing Anarchy and Seahorse of the UK.
Many private organizations have used her photos for their member publications, these include: Bayview Yacht Club (Detroit, MI), Grosse Pointe Yacht Club (Grosse Pte., MI), Little Traverse Yacht Club (Harbor Springs, MI), The International DN Ice Yacht Racing Association (IDNIYRA )- Annual Roster, and IDNIYRA Quarterly Publication – Runner Tracks.
