The Charlevoix Circle of Arts is currently accepting registrations for upcoming fall classes with topics ranging from textiles, jewelry, printmaking and painting. New to the Circle this year is a dance/yoga series that looks to build in offerings as the season progresses. “We are thrilled to have in place a new dance floor made possible by the support of private donors and a grant from the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs,” explains Gail DeMeyere the Executive Director for the Circle of Arts. “Now we can open our programming to a larger audience and bring more experiences to our wonderfully creative space on Clinton Street.”

Heidi Dietrich has started teaching yoga classes on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings and brings to the Circle her enthusiasm and experience in the yoga arts. Many may have seen Heidi during the summer months teaching in the park near the marina. Along with Heidi, Jeannine Sladick is offering Irish Light Shoe and Clogging. Jeannine is also a well-respected and engaging instructor.

The education series at the Circle will also include lectures and performances throughout the fall and winter season. On October 10 the artists from the current exhibition, Myths of the Northwoods will give a Monday Morning Coffee talk about their work in the show. Mary Fortuna, Meredith Krell and Fred Ward will be in the gallery for an informative talk. This series is being sponsored in the fall months by a gift from Castle Farms.

The Charlevoix Circle of Arts is expanding their programming and is looking forward to new ideas to better serve the community.
