CAMP DAGGETT SEEKING KAYAKERS FOR KAYAK FOR A CAUSE ON WALLOON LAKE
Camp Daggett is seeking kayakers to participate in the Kayak for a Cause on Walloon Lake fundraiser, July 15, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and July 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will paddle the thirty-mile shoreline of beautiful Walloon Lake and are asked to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges to support Camp Daggett’s Adventure Center program. Participants can register for the one- or two-day event online at www.campdaggett.org, click on Upcoming Events.
The one-day option on Saturday includes a stop at Camp Daggett, breakfast snack, lunch provided by Walloon Lake residents, Pam and Dennis Roudi, homemade dinner and team t-shirt. On Sunday, paddlers will receive a t-shirt and lunch. The traditional two-day tour starts on Saturday and continues on Sunday to complete the 30-mile paddle. All paddlers are invited to attend the “I Did It Celebration” Sunday afternoon.
The base cost to participate is $50 per kayaker. You are encouraged to raise more than that from your friends and family who can support you by going on the website once you are registered. This year in partnership with the Camp Daggett Annual Golf Benefit, each golf cart sponsor will be also sponsoring a kayaker ($250).
This event is sponsored by Bear Cove Marina, Walloon Central Power Sports, Personal Graphics, The Outfitter of Harbor Springs, Bulmann Dock & Lift and many more generous donors.
