If you’ve been following the Oil & Water Don’t Mix campaign you probably know that this summer two state studies on Enbridge Line 5 risks and alternatives will be released. The state will be using these studies to decide what action to take about Line 5 – this is the most important time for us to make sure our voices are heard!
The best way to protect the Great Lakes this summer is to have a massive turnout of public support for shutting down the flow of oil in Line 5 in the Straits of Mackinac. That’s where you come in!
Attend the PSAB Board Meeting:
A Blue Lakes Charter Bus has been organized from Traverse City to take the public to Petoskey for the June 12 Pipeline Safety Advisory Board (PSAB) meeting. This is the final PSAB meeting before they release the studies. The state is setting aside an entire three hours for public comment, and this is where you come in. Join us on the bus as we travel together to the meeting.
A rally nearby the meeting with food, music, and speakers is also being planned in Petoskey on that day. Be part of the excitement. RSVP for the meeting and get your bus ticket now!
Get on the Bus!
WHAT: Bus Trip from Traverse City to Petoskey
WHY: To speak out for the Great Lakes
WHEN: Monday, June 12, 2017, 7:00 AM depart, 6:00 PM return
WHERE: Traverse City Civic Center
Please join me in thanking William Gittlen for being the bus organizer and captain. We have 55 seats to fill and I bet they’ll go quickly.
So, please consider joining us and make a racket for our Great Lakes! You can make public comment – and we’ll share tips on how to do that – or you can show your support just by being there. If you can’t make it on the bus, we are looking for sponsors and donations to make the bus more affordable for all. You can give here.
