A multi-arts program with author Daniel Wolff and singer-songwriter Chris Buhalis will be presented on
Wednesday, April 11, at 7pm at the Mills Community House. Wolff is author of Grown Up Anger: Woody
Guthrie, Bob Dylan and the Calumet Massacre of 1913, which was selected as a 2018 Michigan Notable Book.
GROWN-UP ANGER weaves together biographies of Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie with a labor strike in
northern Michigan to create an alternative history of 20th century America’s labor struggles and politics.
Detroit-born musician Chris Buhalis joins Wolff in demonstrating the musical connections of Guthrie and
Dylan. A prominent figure in Michigan’s folk scene, Buhalis’s most recent album is Big Car Town, with songs
about Michigan’s industrial past and his working class roots.
The program is hosted by Benzonia Public Library and Darcy Library of Beulah. Admission is free, and doors
open at 6:30 with hospitality and book-signing following the presentation. The presentation takes place at the
Mills Community House at 891 Michigan Ave (US-31) in Benzonia.
