May 8 PRAS Program – Beaver Island Birding Trail and Conservation Efforts
The May 8 Petoskey Regional Audubon Meeting features Pam Grassmick and her presentation about the Beaver Island Birding Trail and Beaver Island Conservation in Action.
The program takes place at Northern Lights Recreation, 8865 Harbor Petoskey Road (M-119), Harbor Springs. The program begins at 7pm. The program is free and open to the public.
Beaver Island, dubbed “America’s Emerald Isle,” is the home of the Beaver Island Birding Trail. The island is a critical stop-over site for migratory birds on their way north to breeding grounds, Many stay to nest on the archipelago’s diverse natural habitats.

Pam Grassmick is a retired nurse and a 4th generation native of Irish descent on Beaver Island. Pam’s passion for the pristine natural resources of the Beaver Island Archipelago has led her to work with diverse state, tribal, and regional agencies and organizations on invasive species removal and habitat protection and restoration. She enjoys sharing and promoting the many unique attributes of Beaver Island.
