The 4th Annual Craft Beer Block Party will kick off the 58th Annual National Morel Mushroom Festival on Thursday, May 17th from 5-9 p.m. in downtown Boyne City.  Featuring a great band, lots of delicious food and of course, craft beer and wine.

New this year, the event’s location will depend on the weather. “After freezing our fingers off last year, we’ve come up with a backup plan for bad weather” said Chamber Executive Director, Ashley Cousens. Last year’s event took place amidst freezing rain and high winds, but still brought out a die-hard crowd of almost 400 people who danced in the streets until dark.

This year, if the weather is good, the event will take place as usual in the 100 block of South Lake Street. But if the weather is bad, the event will be moved to the heated Mushroom Festival tent in Veterans Park. The Chamber will announce the event’s location by Tuesday, May 15th on their Facebook page.

Admission is $18, which includes a souvenir cup, courtesy of North Harbor Real Estate, and 5 tasting tickets; extra drink tickets are available for purchase at the event, 2 for $3.

The Galactic Sherpas are back for another year on the B.C. Pizza Stage, bringing their fun and funky sound to the streets of Boyne City for all to enjoy. There will be plenty of room to dance!

These popular Michigan breweries will provide the beer:
Petoskey Brewing Company, Cheboygan Brewing Co., Cigar City, Ellison Brewing, North Peak, Perrin, Bells, Founders, New Holland, Dark Horse, Arcadia, Shorts, Starcut Cider, Bee Well Meadery, Ore Dock, Pigeon Hill, Triple Root, and Gonzo’s Big Dog.

Plus, wine tasting from Petoskey Farms Vineyard & Winery.

There will also be lots of great food available for sale inside the event perimeter. Happy’s Taco Shop will return this year, along with the ever-popular Red Mesa Grill, Café Sante, and Stiggs Brewery & Kitchen. New this year, Boyne City Bakery will be making their famous crepes.
