Cooking classes are off to a strong start at Oliver Art Center. All of our Seafood classes with Joe Muer are sold out, but we do have waiting lists for overflow classes. Please call to be put on a waiting list.

Jim Voltz returns with two popular classes. He will offer Sauces on Monday July 18, 2pm to 4pm. Everyone loves sauces but many cooks are intimidated at the thought of preparing sauces.  Chef Jim Voltz will take the mystery out of Basic White Sauce, Basic Brown Sauce, Red Wine Sauce, and the aristocrat of sauces, Hollandaise. Some of the skills covered in class include: How to pair a dish with the right sauce; Preparing reductions; Using roux as a thickening agent; Preparing Hot Emulsions. Students will be able to sample all sauces with an appropriate dish. Chef Jim returns with Fall Soups on Monday September 19, 2pm to 4pm. There is nothing more warming than a delicious bowl of soup on a cool fall day. Chef Jim prepares three of his favorites in this class.

Parking at Oliver Art Center is limited. Overflow parking can be found along the east side of Second Street, which leads to Oliver Art Center, as well as on Main Street. Parking is prohibited in the adjacent lots of Harbor Lights, The United States Coast Guard Station, and at other residences.
