Wreath Making Workshop

Kick off the holiday season by creating a fresh wreath for your front door at GTCD’s Wreath Making Workshop! This DIY experience allows you to create a beautiful wreath you’ll be proud to hang in your home. Wreath form, a mix of fresh evergreens, ribbon, instructions, and tools will be provided. Attendees will take home their gorgeous wreaths at the end of the class.

Mitten Smitten is a four-concert series featuring Michigan’s vibrant music scene. This is a collaboration between Crooked Tree Arts Center and Blissfest Music Organization. 

Levitator is a psychedelic rock group from northern Michigan, sending the sounds of their classic influences through walls of atmospherics and dynamic soundscapes. They must be seen live to be truly understood, and their energy is infectious.

NorthernLight Church is having a fabulous Craft/Vendor event on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10am to 4pm.
Crafters and vendors along with a bake sale and chili cook-off!

Come and lace your own traditional cross-country snowshoes. Snowshoes are an excellent way to explore Michigan’s wintery outdoors. This eight-hour course provides in-person instruction, two wooden, Iverson snowshoe frames (10 by 46 inches), tubular nylon lacing material and Super A-style snowshoe bindings. By the end of the day, you will walk away with your very own hand-laced snowshoes.

After the class is complete, you will still need to varnish your snowshoes at your own home before they can be used in the snow.

Cost is $180 per person. For ages 16 and older.

To register for this class, go to Michigan.gov/DNRLicenses and click on the “Purchase a license” button. Sign in (using either a username and password or your ID and birthdate), and find the class under the Outdoor Skills Academy tab.

A Recreation Passport is required on your vehicle for entry into the state park.

Please note: Registration is required by Dec. 4. Cancellations must be made by Dec. 5 to guarantee a full refund.

‘Tis the season to get creative. Looking for a festive activity to embrace the holiday spirit? Interested in a guided paint class that celebrates the winter season? Join us for a night (or 3) with the talented artist Nicole Bryant. This Sip & Paint class will include a Jax signature cocktail, art supplies and painting instruction.

About the artist: Nicole Bryant initiated her art education at the College for Creative Studies (CCS). A fortuitous opportunity then led her to an apprenticeship with a fine art surrealist painter inspired by old masters. “I learned a lot about traditional painting, grinding pigments, making rabbit-skin glue and making linseed oil,” Nicole shares. “I dabbled in digital media for awhile but my passion lies in traditional drawing and painting media.” Nicole is excited to share her talents and expertise at Jax Northside to help others create their own
masterpieces…for their own walls or for holiday gifts.

Join us for Breakfast with Santa!
The Breakfast with Santa Experience at Delamar includes fun activities for the whole family. Enjoy a breakfast buffet, visit with and write letters to Santa, design your own ornament, roast s’mores, decorate cookies with our chef, indulge in our fancy hot cocoa and coffee bar (with special add-ons for mom and dad too), and vote on our staff gingerbread house competition.

A portion of the proceeds from Breakfast with Santa will go to Step Up Northern Michigan. Step Up Northern Michigan is a non-profit benefitting at-risk youth in our area. Lighting of the Bridges
Saturday, December 16
6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
$5 per person
Join us for a magical evening as we light up the bridges of our boardwalk with colorful lights and lanterns for one night only. Enjoy a 1/4 mile winter stroll around our newest section of boardwalk with the bridges lit up with lights, and then warm up with a campfire and hot cocoa at the pavilion. Inside the Center we will have a variety of holiday crafts to make! You can come any time during this two-hour “open house” style event and walk the self-guided trail, enjoy the fire, and make crafts in the Center. The Breakfast with Santa Experience at Delamar includes fun activities for the whole family. Enjoy a breakfast buffet, visit with and write letters to Santa, design your own ornament, roast s’mores, decorate cookies with our chef, indulge in our fancy hot cocoa and coffee bar (with special add-ons for mom and dad too), and vote on our staff gingerbread house competition.

A portion of the proceeds from Breakfast with Santa will go to Step Up Northern Michigan. Step Up Northern Michigan is a non-profit benefitting at-risk youth in our area. ‘Tis the season to get creative. Looking for a festive activity to embrace the holiday spirit? Interested in a guided paint class that celebrates the winter season? Join us for a night (or 3) with the talented artist Nicole Bryant. This Sip & Paint class will include a Jax signature cocktail, art supplies and painting instruction.

About the artist: Nicole Bryant initiated her art education at the College for Creative Studies (CCS). A fortuitous opportunity then led her to an apprenticeship with a fine art surrealist painter inspired by old masters. “I learned a lot about traditional painting, grinding pigments, making rabbit-skin glue and making linseed oil,” Nicole shares. “I dabbled in digital media for awhile but my passion lies in traditional drawing and painting media.” Nicole is excited to share her talents and expertise at Jax Northside to help others create their own masterpieces…for their own walls or for holiday gifts.
