Mammoth Distilling is headquartered in Central Lake, Michigan with satellite tasting rooms in Traverse City and Bellaire. Stop by to create your own custom blend.

The new Borrowed Time product line allows Mammoth Distilling to expand their products and deliver a range of unique blending and tasting experiences to individuals and groups. The first release under their Borrowed Time label is a six-barrel house blend from a 40-barrel lot of 10-year Tennessee bourbon. Head Distiller Ari Sussman crafted this blend to feature a pronounced sweetness and rich vanilla note followed by a lingering maple finish that presents a full-bodied, mature profile.

“In addition to our complete line of base-distilled spirits bottled under the Hand Hewn label, we actively search the world for the best spirits that we can’t make ourselves, either because they’re aged longer than we’ve been in business, or they’re product categories that can’t be made in the United States,” says Chad Munger, president and founder of Mammoth Distilling. “Bottled as single barrel, or blended to create even more complex flavors, our Borrowed Time category is a fun and rewarding way for us to collaborate with other great spirit makers.”

The 2018 Borrowed Time Bourbon house blend is a 300-case limited release with distribution in Michigan, Chicago and California. Several retail partners have also engaged with Mammoth to create their own single-barrel blends, available only at their locations, designated with a custom banner label on the front of the bottle.

A portion of this lot is being held back for exclusive blending experiences offered at Mammoth tasting room locations. Individuals or groups looking for an opportunity to create their own custom bourbon blend can design a truly one-of-a-kind event.

“Mammoth is heavily focused on guest engagement,” Munger says. “To complement our products, we provide unique experiences for individuals, small group parties, corporate teams, weddings; our Borrowed Time barrel inventory opens up so many cool opportunities. We like to encourage creativity with every new event!”
