  • A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with accounting classes equivalent to an Accounting minor required.

  • Three (3) years of accounting experience required. Three (3) years of experience in internal Munson Healthcare accounting, similar health system accounting department, or CPA Firm preferred.

  • CMA or CPA preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Access and Excel) and other financial software.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees from all levels within the organization.

  • Experience in managing accounting systems and preparing financial statements required.

    ORGANIZATION This position reports to the Accounting Manager. This position may receive assignments from Senior Accountants and above. This position has significant contact and interaction with customers and suppliers in many departments. SPECIFIC DUTIES 1. Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Munson Healthcare.

    1. Embraces and supports the Performance Improvement philosophy of Munson Healthcare.

    2. Promotes personal and patient safety.

    3. Uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times.

    4. Assists with monthly financial statements for multiple companies, including: balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows and supporting schedules.

    5. Prepares monthly reconciliations and supporting schedules of general ledger accounts, as assigned.

    6. Assists with and prepares annual budgets, including projected financial statements and the monthly spread of revenues and expenses.

    7. Assists in providing financial information for the external audit.

    8. Assists with and prepares information returns required by state and federal agencies relating to tax, payroll and third party reimbursement.

    9. Participates in process improvement teams.

    10. Filing financial records physically & electronically.

    11. Processing payments of accounts payable invoices.

    12. Performing the duties, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations, within the scope of the functional team to which they are assigned

    13. Proven ability to retrieve, analyze and interpret detailed financial information and provides analytical support to senior accountants and above.

    14. Proven ability to perform a timely and complete financial review of the individual's areas of responsibility, including a well documented variance report.

    15. Demonstrates a high proficiency with MHC's financial accounting, budgeting and reporting software.

    16. Works closely with Staff I accountants to assist in training on MHC systems.

    17. Works independently, establishes priorities, meets tight deadlines and manages diverse responsibilities.

    18. Ability to function in a complex multi-company environment.

    19. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
