The old Garage Bar and Grill has been sold and is now the Garage Bar-B-Q, a southern barbecue, cocktail, whiskey, and beer restaurant. The menu shown on their Facebook page consists of smoked shrimp, wings, beef brisket, St Louis ribs, pulled pork, and chicken; as well as sides and a salad. The drink menu is extensive. The new owners have recruited out-of-town staff to open up the restaurant and who plan to live in the area.

The Detroit Optimist Society, which has launched and is operating 9 restaurants within Detroit, owns the new Garage. They usually feature high-quality cocktails at each of their uniquely themed restaurants. They are represented in Northport by one of the owners Dave Kwiatkowski. The old Garage space has been altered but another more extensive round of renovation is scheduled for the winter of 2023. However, the garage door and outdoor seating will remain.

The hours are from 12 pm to 9 pm Friday and Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday, and open from 12 pm to 8:30 pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
