South Higgins Lake State Park
South Higgins Lake State Park ranks as the second largest campground in a Michigan state park, with 400 modern sites spread along nearly a mile of Higgins Lake shore. The park is about 1000 acres in size, 700 of which surround the dimunitive Marl Lake. A boat ramp in the park makes fishing and other water sports convenient. Seasonal hunting is permitted in the forest area. While hiking the 11 miles of trails, look for bald eagles from April to June. 989-821-6374. South Higgins Lake State Park
