COM – Hrly Custodian

EJ has an immediate opening for a Temporary Custodian.

Keeps Corporate Office and Product Development buildings and grounds in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Restock toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap and other supplies.
  • Empty trash and remove trash to the designated area.
  • Sweep or dust mop, and wet mop and sanitize ceramic and resilient floor surfaces.
  • Clean and sanitize sinks and restroom fixtures including toilet bowls, toilet seats, and urinals.
  • Clean and polish mirrors, glass and chrome.

Kitchen and/or Lunch Room

  • Damp wipe tabletops, and table legs, counters, and exteriors of cabinets.
  • Empty trash and remove trash to the designated area.
  • Damp wipe exterior and clean interior of microwave ovens.
  • Sweep or dust mop and damp mop resilient flooring to remove spills and stains.
  • Clean and sanitize sinks.
  • Wipe exterior of refrigerator.
  • Remove all expired items and empty containers from refrigerator on Friday.

General Office Areas

  • Dust furniture, desks, chairs, credenzas, tables, and cabinets.

  • Dust specific office equipment (computer screens, etc.)

  • Empty waste containers and remove trash to the designated area.
  • Return chairs, furniture, and waste containers to proper positions.
  • Clean entrance glass and internal window glass, removing fingerprints and smudges.
  • Vacuum carpeted areas.
  • Dust mop ceramic and resilient floor areas and spot clean to remove spills and stains.
  • Lock designated office doors upon completion of cleaning.
  • Dust window ledges, tops of partitions and other low reach areas.
  • Dust and remove debris from metal entrance thresholds.
  • Remove spots from carpeted areas.
  • Clean and sanitize telephones.
  • Damp mop ceramic and resilient floors.

A minimum of 1-year experience.


Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.


Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
