Cherry Tonic

A rum drink made with July-plucked tart cherries will take you straight to summer Up North, even on a gray day.


  • 1 12-ounce can frozen limeade
  • 12 ounces light rum (use the limeade can to measure)
  • 4 cups frozen tart cherries (try Leelanau Fruit Co. or Friske Orchards)
  • 2 bottles club soda, chilled


In a blender, mix undiluted limeade, rum and frozen tart cherries until smooth. Pour mixture into glasses and top with club soda to taste. Serves 6. This and many other essential Up North recipes can be found in our Cottage Cookbook!
