Bakes & Kropp, a luxury kitchen design and manufacturing company, is expanding to Bay Harbor.

The new Northern Michigan showroom, which celebrated its grand opening on June 30, broadens the brand’s footprint in Michigan, joining its Plymouth showroom and its Mt. Clemens factory. The team is currently taking on work in the area.

“Bakes & Kropp is thoughtfully and intentionally expanding into new markets around the nation,” says Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer Paul Kropp. “Bay Harbor stood out to us as a natural progression and the perfect fit for our brand. It is a popular spot for vacations and second homes with a customer base that pulls from multiple locations both within Michigan and around the Midwest.”

The showroom is located in the Chatham House Lifestyle Gallery at 801 Front St., a glass-front building on the shore of Lake Michigan, easily accessible by foot, car or boat. The showroom will be led by Senior Kitchen Designer Justin Sharer, who will work alongside Co-Founder and Head of Design Bob Bakes to provide service to homeowners in creating their dream kitchens, bathrooms, closets, wine rooms and more.

“As a homeowner in nearby Harbor Springs, I am well acquainted with the Northern Michigan clientele and am looking forward to showing them the capabilities of Bakes & Kropp,” Sharer says. “White is a key color for this affluent coastal community, but through the design of the new space we are introducing edgier elements and mixing finishes such as satin brass and walnut.”

The showroom will include a full working kitchen display for hosting community events throughout the year. Beginning in June, the showroom will be open for walk-ins but appointments are encouraged. Bakes & Kropp has showrooms in New York City; the Hamptons; Long Island; Plymouth, MI; and Bay Harbor, MI.
