Grow Benzie’s key annual fundraiser, the Benzie Bayou, returns to Northern Michigan on July 29. Head to Elberta‘s Waterfront Park for live music by internationally renowned musicians and Southern-style cuisine featuring local ingredients.

Benzie Bayou is back! This year, the long-held event returns to Elberta’s Waterfront Park from 4 to 11 p.m. on July 29, introducing music by internationally renowned Blues, Jazz and Zydeco musicians.

Local food vendors will cook up southern-style dishes from local ingredients, while attendees gain access to the live auction supporting the event’s fundraiser for Grow Benzie.

For this year’s performances, enjoy music by Detroit’s Queen of the Blues: Thornetta Davis, Charlie Millard Band, and K Jones & the Benzie Playboys. Since the event is outside, don’t forget to bring a blanket or lawn chair (no outside food or beverages are allowed).

Meet the Artists

Charlie Millard Band | A local group serving up Indie-Americana style music, reminiscent of ‘60s or ‘70s folk-rock bands.

Thornetta Davis | International singer, songwriter and recording artist, once crowned Detroit’s Queen of the Blues.

K Jones & the Benzie Playboys | Known for their “roots” sound that’s parallel to southwest Louisiana’s Creole, Cajun and Zydeco music. Get ready for some two-steppin’ and waltzes.
