Northern Michigan knows how to put on a show for the Fourth of July! Across seven different regions, there’s no shortage of fireworks displays, no matter where you are. Get all the insider tips on nearby shows and how to best enjoy them below.

Above the Bridge Region

July 2 | Escanaba’s Fourth of July Fireworks Display | Escanaba

To enjoy fireworks before the Fourth, go to Ludington Park at approximately 10:15 p.m. to see Escanaba’s fireworks display. With food vendors and live music on site, you’ll want to get there early!

July 3 | Fireworks over Keweenaw Bay | Baraga

For a twist on the traditional Fourth of July celebrations, head to Baraga early to experience the county’s “Lumberjack Days,” which will end with a fireworks show over Keweenaw Bay.

July 4 | Thunder on the Mountain Fireworks Display | Bessemer

Bessemer’s week of Independence Day events will end with a spectacular fireworks show at 10 p.m. Spectators should gather at the Massie Field to catch the best view of the display.

July 4 | Drummond Island’s Annual Hometown 4th of July Celebration | Drummond Island

After a parade, children’s games and bike give-a-way, head to the Drummond Island Ball Field and Elementary School to watch the fireworks display at dusk.

July 4 | Mackinac Island’s 4th of July Fireworks | Mackinac Island

**Double-Feature** Celebrate Independence Day on Mackinac Island with a variety of unique events, but make sure to stick around for its special fireworks display at approximately 10 p.m. Take a seat at Windermere Point or on the public school yard to watch Mackinac Island’s fireworks and Mackinaw City’s from across the water!

July 4 | Marquette’s 4th of July Festivities | Marquette

There are several places to spot Marquette’s fireworks display, including Ellwood Mattson Lower Harbor Park, Father Marquette Park, the Boardwalk by the Hampton Inn, South Beach Park, Sugar Loaf Mountain, and the M-28 Beaches.

July 4 | Munising’s 2022 Fourth of July Celebration | Munising

Following a watermelon eating contest, free ice cream, a water fight and more, the Independence Day fireworks show will start at dark.

July 4 | Sault Ste. Marie’s Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks | Sault Ste. Marie

Sault Ste. Marie’s Fourth of July celebrations end with a bang as the fireworks sparkle over St. Marys River. Recommended spots to view the fireworks are from the north side of the City Hall grounds and Brady Park.

July 4 | St. Ignace’s 4th of July Community Party | St. Ignace

Fireworks over Moran Bay will commence at dusk, but get to St. Ignace early for a whole day of Fourth of July fun including bike decorating, a parade, children’s games and more.

Benzie & Leelanau Region

July 3 | Leland’s Fourth of July Celebration | Leland

Leland’s fireworks spectacular will begin at dusk at the Hancock Field and Park, but go to the Village Green beforehand for a Patriotic Sing-Along.

July 4 | “Let Freedom Ring” Celebration 2022 | Beulah

Starting at 8 a.m. is an entire day of activities to participate in at Beulah’s Fourth of July Celebration! A fireworks display over Crystal Lake will close out the event at 10:30 p.m.

July 4 | Frankfort’s 4th of July Fireworks | Frankfort

While Frankfort will have its Fourth of July Carnival all weekend, its grand finale will be at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Independence Day. Head to downtown Frankfort to catch all the fun!

July 4 | Northport’s 4th of July Fireworks | Northport

The Village of Northport is hosting a fireworks show on the lawn of the Marina at Bay Front of Haserot Park. While the show starts at 10 p.m., make sure to get there early to enjoy snacks and beverages.

Cadillac, Manistee & Ludington Region

July 3 | Pentwater Fireworks | Pentwater

The Fourth of July fireworks in Pentwater can be seen from the beach or by boat as they sparkle over Lake Michigan. The show begins at dusk.

July 4 | Ludington Area Jaycees Freedom Festival | Ludington

Bring your picnic blankets and sparklers to see the fireworks in Ludington! The show starts at dusk, and suggested viewing sites include Stearns Beach or Waterfront Park.

July 4 | Manistee National Forest Festival | Manistee

Gather at the First Street Beach in Manistee to view the fireworks over Lake Michigan at 10:30 p.m. For extra fun, tune into The Eagle 101.5 to listen to music in sync with the show.

Charlevoix & The Chain of Lakes Region

July 3 | Shanty Creek’s Fireworks Display | Bellaire

Behind Shanty Creek’s Lakeview Hotel, spectators will be able to enjoy an Independence Day fireworks display over Lake Bellaire at approximately 10:20 p.m.

July 3 | Ellsworth St. Clair Lake Fireworks | Ellsworth

For a spectacular fireworks display before the Fourth, head to Ellsworth to watch their show. Fireworks begin at dusk and will blast over St. Clair Lake.

July 3 | Torch Lake Fireworks | Rapid City

Cruise over to the Torch Lake Sandbar at 10 p.m. to see a Fourth of July fireworks display from your boat.

July 4 | Boyne City’s 4th of July Festival | Boyne City

Celebrated as the “Best 4th in the North,” there’s no shortage of fun all weekend long in Boyne City. The impressive firework finale over Lake Charlevoix will begin at 10:30 p.m.

July 4 | The Big Show Over The Little Village 2022 | Walloon Lake

With family activities and live music, the daytime festivities can’t be missed, but make sure to attend the fireworks at 10:30 p.m. as they launch over Walloon Lake.

Kalkaska, Gaylord & Grayling Region

July 2 | Fireworks Over Otsego Lake | Gaylord

Head out on a boat or grab a spot at Otsego Lake County Park to watch the Independence Day fireworks the weekend before the Fourth. The show begins at 10 p.m.

July 4 | Johannesburg 4th of July Fireworks | Johannesburg

Following a parade, the Fourth of July fireworks will take place behind the Johannesburg-Lewiston School at dusk.

July 3 | Fireworks over Bay Harbor Lake | Bay Harbor

If you’re looking for fireworks before the Fourth in the Petoskey area, head over to Bay Harbor. Enjoy a day of shopping and lakeside dining before the fireworks show at 10:30 p.m. over Bay Harbor Lake.

July 4 | Harbor Springs 4th of July Fireworks | Harbor Springs

**Double-Feature**
Find a spot at Zorn Park Beach or Zoll Street Beach to watch not one but two fireworks shows! Harbor Springs’ show will begin at approximately 10:30 p.m., and around the same time, Petoskey’s show should be visible across the water.

July 4 | Indian River’s 4th of July Celebration | Indian River

For small-town festivities, head to Indian River’s DeVoe Beach to watch the fireworks display over Burt Lake.

July 4 | Mackinaw City’s 4th of July Celebration | Mackinaw City

**Double-Feature**
Early in the day, enjoy games on the Marina Lawn, but stick around for the fireworks display over the bay at dusk. Bonus: you’ll also be able to spot the fireworks from Mackinac Island!

July 4 | Brilliance over the Bay Fireworks Show | Petoskey

**Double-Feature**
After a day of Fourth of July celebrations, Petoskey will conclude its festivities with a firework display over Little Traverse Bay at dusk. Bayfront Park is recommended as the best spot to view the show.

July 5 | Beaver Island’s Independence Weekend Fireworks | Beaver Island

For a fantastic fireworks show after the Fourth, take a trip to Beaver Island where the show will start at 10 p.m. on July 5. Suggested viewing spots include Whiskey Point, the Public Beach, or by boat near Paradise Bay.

Traverse City Region

July 1-3 | Traverse City Pit Spitters Post-Game Fireworks | Traverse City

Looking to catch a baseball game and a fireworks show in one stop? Head to Turtle Creek Stadium and watch the Pit Spitters play, and then stay for the post-game fireworks display.

July 4 | Fife Lake’s Best Fourth in the North | Fife Lake

For a less crowded Fourth of July near T.C., head south to Fife Lake to enjoy its weekend of festivities. At dusk on the Fourth, fireworks will be launched over the lake.

July 4 | National Cherry Festival’s 4th of July Fireworks | Traverse City

With a fireworks display that synchronizes with patriotic and modern music, the National Cherry Festival’s firework show can’t be missed! Recommended viewing spots include the Open Space Park, Clinch Park Marina, Bryant Park and the West End Beach, but get there early because spots fill up fast.
