Pure Ludington BRRRewfest Event Q&A

Still searching for more information on this annual event? We caught up with Brandy H. Miller who is President/CEO for Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce and Executive Director for Ludington Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Q: Tell us why you’re excited about this event.
A: This is the 7th year hosting this winter festival in Ludington. It’s a fun way for people to hang out with friends around the fire, discover new brews, and a wonderful way for Michigan brewers to showcase their products. We can’t wait to see what new things these crafters have in store. The event will feature craft beer, wine, cider and mead from more than 20 Michigan companies.

Q: What are some highlights of the venue?
A: This year will be an open-air event in the newly renovated Legacy Plaza, which will have brewers and heaters spread throughout, so participants can safely practice social distancing. There will be musical entertainment, a warming tent, comfort foods, an outdoor fireplace, and Brrrewfest merchandise. You won’t want to miss the Southern-style barbecue options from The Q Smokehouse or the specialty hotdogs from Lakeside Wiener Wagon while sampling all of the beverages available.

Q: How does your organization’s mission connect with this event?
A; Part of the Chamber’s mission is to support the community in any way possible, and this event is a fundraiser for a very special organization, the Friends of the Ludington State Park. The group of volunteers not only helps us out with the event but also takes care of the state park by providing enhancements not normally covered by state management. The group’s most recent project was a universally accessible kayak launch on Hamlin Lake, which will allow park visitors to easily get onto the water and enjoy the canoe and kayak trails. Its next goal is to purchase an all-terrain vehicle that will be available to visitors who have a disability and could not otherwise get around the park trails and beach areas. We’re very pleased to partner with the Friends group every year to raise funding for these types of projects.
