Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs knows how to do winter in Northern Michigan! From skiing and snowshoeing to new technology and updated guest rooms, here’s what you can expect to see at Boyne Highlands for the Winter 2021/22 season.

This is an official press release brought to you by Boyne Highlands and MyNorth News Service.

Officials at Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs recently announced plans for the upcoming season. Included are new Main Lodge guest rooms, RFID technology, enhanced snowmaking and on-slope improvements, Stay & Save, the return of The Enchanted Trail, and more.

New Luxury Main Lodge Accommodations

This winter, guests can relax and unwind after a day of fun in the resort’s new Main Lodge accommodations. In the iconic hotel, 87 guest rooms were expanded to more spacious layouts and converted into refined and elegant luxury accommodations featuring a design style that blends traditional English countryside with pure contemporary form. Deluxe, premium, and suite options are available, some featuring sitting areas and sleeper sofas, and all featuring wooden wardrobes for storage and modern conveniences such as coffee bars with a mini smart refrigerator and Nespresso machine. Bathrooms feature marble floor and wall tiles, British fixtures, Euro-style toilets, custom-designed lighted mirrors, and more. For lodging reservations, visit boynehighlands.com. RFID Technology Provides Swift Chairlift Access

Boyne Highlands has installed dual-frequency RFID (radio frequency identification) technology for the 2021/22 season with scanning at all lifts. RFID facilitates direct-to-lift access for ticket and season pass holders, and also provides a streamlined purchasing process enabling guests to purchase lift tickets or season passes online, and reload a media card with additional tickets or pass purchases season-after-season. RFID media cards can be picked up via several new pick-up boxes throughout the resort grounds.

On The Slopes

Boyne Highlands has added five new HKD Impulse tower guns to its snowmaking fleet. These ultra-efficient snow guns enable snowmaking in marginal temperatures, much like the resort’s proprietary Boyne Low-E fan guns. Expanding capacity, a new 12” well has been installed increasing water access for snowmaking. In the parks, a new Pistenbully ParkPro 400, precisely tailored to the needs of park builders, will allow for the creation of exceptional features within the resort’s four terrain parks. For beginners or those returning to the sports, a new 300’ Sunkid Covered Conveyor is replacing the Wonder Carpet on North Camelot.

Introducing Stay & Save

This winter, all lodging guests of Boyne Highlands Resort can gain access to 10 percent off lift ticket purchases during their stay dates, and for each member in the traveling family or group. As with any lift ticket purchase at the resort, the earlier it’s purchased, the larger the savings. Boyne Highlands has rolled out Stay & Save as a new alternative to the former Ski & Stay Package providing greater flexibility and an added benefit discount for all resort lodging guests. Enchanted Trail Experience Returns

The magical Enchanted Trail experience is returning to Boyne Highlands for its second winter. A nearly two-mile roundtrip trail that can be hiked or snowshoed, The Enchanted Trail showcases a dazzling display of thousands of twinkling lights. Participants can enjoy several photo opportunities along the way, and stop to warm up at the mid-way point inside a beautifully decorated yurt or by a crackling bonfire. Hot chocolate and s’mores are included. Tickets range from $15-$25 with ages two and under free. Beverage tickets are additional. This offering is available most Thursdays-Sundays during the winter with expanded holiday dates. Departures take place between 5 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made online at boynehighlands.com.

New Rental Ski and Boot Packages

Boyne Highlands has added 135 sets of new HEAD BYS ski and boot packages within Equipment Rental. The skis are constructed to provide added stability and their shaped design makes for easier turns. For snowboarders, the resort has brought in an additional 35 of the latest Burton snowboards. All equipment rentals are available for full-day or multi-day purchases and can be reserved online in advance by visiting boynehighlands.com.
