Otsego Resort’s events are back in full swing this fall! We caught up with Marketing & Creative Director MaKenna Mead to talk about everything from relaxing craft nights to dramatic murder mystery dinners and stunning fall color tours. Here’s what to expect this season at Otsego Resort in Gaylord.
Tell us why you’re excited about these events.
The Fall Color Tour is one of our biggest events of the year. It is a great time to enjoy the views looking over the Sturgeon Valley with all the leaves changing, it really is breathtaking. Being able to get out on the Tribute golf course, have some wine and food with friends—everyone has a good time.
The Murder Mystery Dinner is a fun event we have done in the past. However, each one is differently themed which makes it an all-new experience and storyline each time.
Craft and Sip is one of my favorite weeknight events. Each week Deanna creates a new crafty project for everyone to do. So even if you come week after week, it’s always a new craft. We supply everything for you to create your own version and on top of all of this, it is also on Ladies Night which features happy hour specials all night long.
For the color tours, do you have a list of wines/wineries that will be participating?Â
We handpick the wines for each station at the color tour then create a perfectly paired small bite to go with each station as well.
For the murder mystery dinner, is dressing up recommended? What can guests expect?
YES! Dressing up is encouraged but not a requirement. Guests will arrive at 5 p.m. for registration, check-in and cocktail hour. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and then the show starts at 7. For the murder mystery we will have a plated dinner served with the guest choice entree which they select when they purchase their tickets.

No matter your experience level you will enjoy a night of creativity and refreshments with your guide Deanna at Otsego Resort! Featuring a new project every week, all supplies will be provided. Purchase of ticket includes one drink in addition to a cash bar and food menu.

The Annual Fall Color Tour // October 2 & 16
Enjoy the fall colors of Northern Michigan as you drive The Tribute golf course and sample perfectly paired food and wine. Featuring four stations with two tastings and one small bite per station.
Totally ’80s Murder Mystery Dinner // October 23
Poison Regenstein is in town for a killer concert, but his fans may be looking for a refund after this twisted tour turns tragic with a murder and a mystery to solve. This radical show could be super lame if no one can solve who was buggin’ so we can all cool out and get the show started! Help the crowd and the detective figure out who ruined this totally tubular night, so everyone can, like, take a chill pill. Grab your most righteous ‘80s concert gear to rock out in style while you solve a crime with your friends. Jean jackets and spandex leggings, big hair, bangles, leg warmers, and ripped jeans will be all the rage at this rocking night of mystery. See you there!
