The Inn at Black Star Farms is a nominee for USA TODAY’S 2020 Readers’ Choice award for Best Wine Country Hotel. Black Star Farms is a family-owned, 160-acre winery estate located in Suttons Bay near Traverse City. The winery is a member of Traverse Wine Coast, an area receiving notoriety as an up-and-coming wine region to watch.

Nestled below a hillside vineyard and overlooking barns and pastures, the Inn at Black Star Farms is a boutique inn delivering a level of personalized service that only a few select independent properties can attain. Guests enjoy miles of on-site hiking trails through forest, orchard and vineyard, gourmet breakfast service, nightly hospitality hour and optional services such as the outdoor adventure package offering bikes and kayaks. Located on the picturesque Leelanau Peninsula, the convenience of nearby beaches, lakes, wine trails, farms, sand dunes and quaint resort towns offer unique experiences for guests to explore, while fireplaces, award-winning wine and comfortable accommodations make some guests choose to remain on the property for the duration of their visit.

Originally a private home on an equestrian estate, the inn began serving guests in 1998, the same year its tasting room opened.

Nominees for all categories are chosen by a panel of relevant experts which include a combination of editors from USA TODAY; editors from 10Best.com and relevant travel experts. Voting for the nominees begins July 13 and will close on August 10 at noon. Rules allow the public the right to vote online for one nominee per category, per day. Cast your votes here.
