Accelerate the Cure, in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association, will be hosting a social distancing drive in the Traverse City area to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s. The Northern Michigan event will be held on June 20.

Participating drivers make a donation that goes toward the Alzheimer’s Association’s work to find treatment for the incurable disease. In 2019, classic car and sports car owners took a tour through town for the first-ever Accelerate for the Cure event. The outing raised more than $22,000.

From the event organizers: We’re still in the planning stages for the drive as we need to navigate the rules governing social distancing in Michigan. We do not know how these rules will change as the state begins to safely open up. What we do know is that starting in Traverse City at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, everyone supporting the event will begin their beautiful drive through Northern Michigan, with drive-by Honk’s & Hello’s as we pass several assisted living centers, as well as scenic stops to take in the views.

Despite these times of uncertainty, these things we know for certain: We will be supporting a great cause, we will be gathering responsibly, we will be enjoying a beautiful drive and we will be cruising in the cars we love.

See you on the road!

Many organization have had to cancel performances, movies, concerts, festivals and more. Please check with the event organizer to ensure the status of the event. If this event is cancelled, please consider not requesting a refund of your ticket. While each ticket doesn’t represent an enormous amount of money, collectively, it will make a big difference for that organization.
