Shady Lane Cellars in Suttons Bay is ready to safely host visitors with table service on its expansive outdoor patio. After three months of changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the winery staff chose to wait until June 1 to ensure all safety measures were in place for a return of visitors.

Now, on Saturday, June 27 from 4–7 p.m., they’ll host “Wine Social … Distancing,” the Northern Michigan winery’s first event since reopening this season. Local dishes will be paired with a variety of Shady Lane Cellars’ wines, and tasting stations will be spaced throughout the patio and grounds of the winery. Glasses of wine will be offered for $5 throughout the event. Tickets and reservations are required; $25 per person. Each ticket purchased will be entered into a raffle to win a $20 local gift card. Please call 231.947.8865 to purchase a ticket.

Shady Lane Cellars encompasses 150 acres in Suttons Bay, including its 52-acre estate-grown vineyard, a 100-year-old fieldstone chicken coop-turned-tasting room, 32-foot covered patio tasting pavilion and outdoor fireplace. The winery produces one of the largest percentages of estate-grown wine in its region. Offering hilltop views of the Leelanau Peninsula, the winery and its staff create a comfortable approach to wine. Upcoming 2020 events will include a Low Country Shrimp Boil on July 25; Harvest BBQ on September 19 and a Harvest Moon Party on October 1.
