Petoskey’s Escape Room, Know Way Out, reopened on June 18 with two new outdoor experiences that take you on a walking adventure in downtown Petoskey.
Founded in 2016, Know Way Out is the area’s first Escape Room and is passionate about providing fun, bonding experiences for people of all ages.
“With the hiatus in regular operations, it was inevitable that our amazing staff would develop new games,” says Cindi Dalian, owner of Know Way Out. Puzzled Petoskey cluehunt games provide an opportunity to get outside, enjoy the weather and solve puzzles in downtown Petoskey after an extended period indoors. The hunts are also an ideal way for visitors to explore then beautiful town in a unique way. Players will even learn a bit about Petoskey’s history along the way.
Two Puzzled Petoskey games are currently available. Lost Loot is a less-challenging option suited to families that gives players an opportunity to search for lost treasure left behind by timber pirates of the Great Lakes. Disarm Petoskey, the sequel to the online game Spy Surge that launched in April, challenges players to thwart a dangerous plan with each clue having a beat-the-clock element for a more intense experience. Although previously playing Spy Surge is not necessary to play Disarm Petoskey, players may wish to enhance the experience of the outdoor game by first playing the online prequel ($12.99 per group.)
Both hunts use augmented reality (AR) technology to add an escape room feel, even while outdoors. Each can be played in approximately 45–90 minutes with the ability to stop and shop or eat between clues if desired. The hunts are wheelchair, stroller and pet friendly. The cost for Lost Loot is $27.99 per group and Disarm Petoskey is $29.99 per group.
Puzzled Petoskey outdoor cluehunts can be played any time during daylight hours. To get started, click here to purchase and download the app. Then, at your convenience, pick up the map at Know Way Out, outside the entryway at 1691 US-131. Players are encouraged to follow the recommended guidelines for COVID-19. Know Way Out on-site escape rooms—Medieval Mayhem, Savage Safari, Mad Hatter’s Asylum and Eyeland—have reopened with modifications for COVID-19.
