In this summer of social distancing, the Inn at Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay is offering a special package so guests can easily get outdoors and explore the water, farmland and beauty that only rural Northern Michigan wine country offers.
The Black Star Farms Outdoor Adventure Package provides a day of biking and sightseeing in Leelanau County and a paddle on West Grand Traverse Bay.
Bicycles are conveniently ready for guests at the back door of the Inn after a hearty breakfast. A hybrid bike comes standard, while the optional E-bike can provide a little extra boost on the area’s rolling hills. (No shame in this!)
The suggested adventure begins with a three-mile cycle along the paved Leelanau Trail into the quaint coastal village of Suttons Bay, which features shops, galleries and local ice cream. A picnic lunch provided by Black Star Farm’s Hearth & Vine Café awaits in Sutton’s Bay when hunger calls and a spacious beachfront park provides ample space for a private lounging spot.
Next, paddleboard or kayak on the tranquil waters of the secluded bay. The paddleboard or kayak experience will include all the necessary equipment and a brief lesson, ensuring a fun, safe experience. When not paddling, there is plenty to explore in the area by bike or foot. When you are ready to return to Black Star Farms, simply hop back on your bikes and take the trail back to the Inn. For those looking for more time on the bike, the Leelanau Trail offers miles of gorgeous landscape to explore.Â
