According to Governor Whitmer, effective at 12:01 a.m. on March 24, for at least the next three weeks, individuals may only leave their homes and residences under very limited circumstance and must adhere to social distancing rules. The executive order prohibits all businesses and operations from requiring workers to leave their homes, unless those workers are necessary to sustain or protect life or to conduct minimum basic operations.
The people at our local businesses, nonprofits and event organizations work every day to create the incredible food, creative shopping options and unique event experiences that fill our towns with vibrancy and who are the lifeblood of employing our residents and keeping each town intact. Whether we tap into them one week out of the year, all summer long or to grab a birthday present or bite after work, our sense of place would be inextricably altered without them. Take a moment to picture the towns, their shops, restaurants and events, that lie at the heart of your Northern experience and then consider the many ways you can help.
As has always been true, and is true now, the future of this place we love is in the hands of the people who love it. We are the people who make a difference. So, let’s do it.

Any artist in the five-county area who has suffered a financial setback from a COVID-19 related cancelation is eligible to receive up to $500 from the Crosshatch Artist Emergency Fund.
