A night on the town is one of the best ways to subdue those winter blues and experience new places in the new year! Check out these three Northern Michigan events in January with your favorite buddy.

ANNUAL MASQUERADE BALL | January 18

Slip away for an evening of glamor and intrigue in Traverse City at 123 Speakeasy’s inaugural Masquerade Ball! The “Black and Gold” themed masquerade takes place within the authentic atmosphere of the 1920’s speakeasy, complete with 100-year-old antiques, crystal chandeliers, glowing candles, Depression-Era glasses and serving ware and a black-tie dress code that is always encouraged, but never necessary. As part of your ticket package, they’ll be kicking off the evening with a dance lesson so you can show off your outfits and masks on the dance floor.

A MAGICAL FEAST WITH BEN WHITING | January 23

Get ready to say “wow.” You’ll dine in decadence at The Franklin in Traverse City while being enchanted by some truly awe-inspiring magic. Known internationally for his humor, originality and ability to connect with his audiences, Ben Whiting will combine his skills with world-class sleight of hand and mind reading to offer you an entertainment experience second to none.

MURDER MYSTERY & DINNER | January 25

You’ve been invited to the Dunn Speakeasy for the wedding of the year. In this “married to the mob” event, you’ll never know who to trust. With the two families merging together, someone is bound to lose power, which means someone else will lose their life. Dress like the cat’s meow for this mafia wedding at The Homestead in Glen Arbor. Flapper dresses, zoot suits, feather boas and headbands, pinstriped suits and fedoras are all appropriate. Traditional wedding attire is nifty too.
