The Erickson Center for the Arts in Curtis, Michigan, invites you to spend an evening out on the town at the Under the Harvest Moon Dinner and Dance. Start the night out with cocktails, enjoy a fabulous dinner and dance the night away with the Westerly Winds Big Band. This celebration of autumn is Saturday, October 19 from 5:30–11:30 p.m.

We caught up with Event/Operations Assistant Rachel Bonacorsi for more about the event.

What do you want to share with guests?

Attire is “dressed up” casual. Many guests see this event as a chance to dress up for the evening, but there is no dress requirement. There will be basket raffles, a cash bar and, of course, lots of dancing! Cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner to follow. It’s a great night-out-on-the-town type of event, close to home.

What will be featured on the dinner and drink menu?

The meal is a full catered buffet from Chamberlin’s Ole Forest Inn Fine Dining here in Curtis.

Tell us more about the band.

We will have music all night from the Westerly Winds Big Band of Marquette, who will perform swing classics from the ’40s and ’50s.

And this event has become a community tradition?

This dinner dance has become an annual event at Erickson Center for the Arts, and is a perfect closing event to a busy summer here.

What’s the venue like?

The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, with candlelit tables seating eight, for groups of friends from all over the U.P. The seating also allows for guests to meet and mingle with people new to the area!
