The 5th Annual Orchards at Sunset 5k and fun run is coming up on Saturday, October 12. The gorgeous setting for this Northern Michigan event is the Gregory/Miezio Farm in Suttons Bay, where racers will begin on a hilltop in the heart of Leelanau County surrounded by views of Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay.
The Orchards at Sunset 5k will meander through apple and cherry orchards as well as local vineyards. The terrain will vary from maintained paths to grassy hillsides. Participants will get the unique experience of running through some of Northern Michigan’s most beautiful countryside at sunset.
The 5k race cost is $30 before October 1 and $35 after—you can register right up until the event starts. The 1-mile fun run is $10 and free for Leelanau Montessori students who sign up in the office at Leelanau Montessori Public School Academy. The fun run starts at 4:30 p.m. and the 5k race is at 5 p.m. Registration and packet pick up begins at 4 p.m.
