Between the two events, more than 3,300 wines from around the globe were evaluated by a panel of distinguished judges.
Tabone Vineyard’s 2017 Estate Semi-Sweet Pinot Gris won double gold from the Taster’s Guild. This wine is crisp, fruit-forward and has tropical and starfruit notes. Being an estate winery, 100 percent of the grapes were sourced from Tabone’s estate.
In the Indy competition, Tabone also received a gold medal for its 2014 Estate Riesling. It’s dry, whole-cluster pressed and has notes of nectarine and pear. This riesling was part of Tabone’s first-ever commercial production with a limited production of only 74 cases.
“It is so exciting to be recognized … especially to receive a double gold medal,” says Owner Mario A. Tabone. “I am humbled and honored, and look forward to making more exceptional wines.”
