The 2018/19 season at Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls brings a new PistenBully 600 Polar cat, enhancements to snowmaking capabilities, improvements on the slopes, Terrain Based Learning™ at the SnowSports Academy and a whole lot more.

On The Slopes

Boyne Mountain is adding to its fleet of snow cats with a new PistenBully 600 Polar, the only one on the slopes for the upcoming season in Michigan and one of only two in the Midwest. With tracks for every grooming job, clean performance and maximum economy, the PistenBully 600 Polar rises better and pushes snow harder than other cats on the market.

Boyne Mountain has also added 1,000 feet of 12” new ductile iron pipe on Ramshead increasing volume and snowmaking infrastructure.

Around the Resort

New LED trail signage will grace the base and top of the Mountain Express lift for improved communication of trail and lift openings and closures. Guests can also find this information synced with the resort’s website as well as the resort channel viewed in resort accommodations.

On the cross country trails, new wayfinding trail signage has been added providing guidance for cross country skiers, snowshoers and fat tire snow bikers.

The Clock Tower Lodge also has a new HVAC system.

New Mercury WINTERSTEIGER MachiNE

Whether race, carver, all terrain or rocker, the Mercury WINTERSTEIGER’s automated service station allows the tuning to perfection of up to 30 pairs of skis and snowboards every hour. A full tune costs $49.99.

Terrain Based Learning™ & Season Passholder Clinics

This winter, the Boyne Mountain SnowSports Academy’s learning area will become the ‘GO ZONE’ with emphasis on Terrain Based Learning™. Founded by Snow Operating, Terrain Based Learning™ has won industry awards for this innovative program, which focuses on a fun-first approach to the on-snow experience and utilizes shaped snow. First-time skiers and snowboarders can learn on features that include a mini-pipe, roller, banked turns and the perfect slope.

Also new this season are Season Passholder Clinics taking place once a month on Saturday mornings beginning in December. The clinics are free to all pass holders and areas of focus and dates will be announced on boynemountain.com. Reservations are required by calling 231.549.6056.

60 New Lockers Being Added

Boyne Mountain is adding 60 new lockers that can accommodate up to six sets of gear each to the Boyne Country Sports building. The lockers will be available for rent on a seasonal basis. Included with the fee, guests will also receive valet parking on weekends and evenings, a special rate on full tune-ups for gear, and beverage service with hot chocolate and coffee.
