Designing Tusen Takk | Thursday the 27th

Tusen Takk is a spectacular home, guesthouse and artist-in-residence workshop on the shores of Lake Michigan in Leelanau County. The artist-in-residence compound is being created by Peter Bohlin, architect for the homes of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs and designer of the iconic Apple stores and the headquarters of Pixar and Adobe. The Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College in collaboration with the Tusen Takk Foundation will host Peter Bohlin at the Milliken Auditorium. This presentation is a unique opportunity to hear one of the world’s finest architects discuss fundamental design principles and how great buildings consider the circumstances of the nature of people, places and how we make things.

Mamma Mia! | Thursday the 27th-Sunday the 30th

Head to Old Town Playhouse in Traverse City to enjoy this family favorite and one of Broadway’s top selling musicals. ABBA’s hit songs tell the hilarious story of a young woman’s search for her birth father. She hopes he can give her away at her wedding, but when her quest brings together three possible dads on a small Greek island, things become much more complicated than she expected.

TC Germanfest | Friday the 28th

Did you know that in Bavaria, beer is actually considered a food? At TC Germanfest, we will be “feasting” on genuine, imported Hofbrau beer … no knife or fork required. Join in celebrating all things German with a night of authentic foods, beers and wines, plus live music and entertainment. Get your Bavarian on and wear your Lederhosen or Dirndl, or just put on a fedora or a crown of flowers to feel more festive.
