Visitors often come to Leelanau County in October for beautiful fall colors, wine tours and to squeeze one or two more trips to the Sleeping Bear Dunes in before chilly temperatures set in. This year, both tourists and locals alike will have the opportunity to also visit four pop-up art galleries throughout the area during the new M22 Art2Art Tour.

The M22 Art2Art Tour will feature award-winning work from nearly 40 Michigan artists. The four-stop tour will take place October 5–7 at four venues along M-22, each stop centered around a specific medium.

“There’s an incredible amount of artistic talent in Northern Michigan,” says Show Director Bill Perkins. “We are tapping some of the best artists in the region. We want to give the arts community an opportunity to showcase their work during one of the most beautiful times of the year.”

At the Suttons Bay Friendship Center, view ceramics and tile work by renowned clay artists Laurie Eisenhardt and Phil Wilson. The pop-up gallery at the Northport Arts Center will feature furniture and sculpture from nearly 20 award-winning artists in a variety of styles, ranging from rustic, sustainable furniture by Bill Perkins, to contemporary work from artists like Jason Sharp and Larry Fox. The Old Art Building in Leland will have a wide selection of fiber work, including intricate fiber collages by Char Bickel and hand-painted yarn by Chris Roosien. In Glen Arbor at the Township Hall, you’ll find an open gallery of 10 artists showing vibrant painting and sculptures, including Jeff Condon and Angela Saxon. Art will be on display and available for purchase at all locations.
