National Cherry Festival Food Events 2018

From flying pancakes to savory BBQ, these National Cherry Festival food events have every taste bud covered. Sip tea with the National Cherry Queen or enjoy a cold brew with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Don’t forget to support local farmers and vendors by visiting one of the week’s many farmers markets. The National Cherry Festival runs from June 30–July 7.

Farmer’s Market Brunch

June 30 & July 7, 7 a.m.–noon
Start and end the festival at the Farmer’s Market Brunch, hosted by Taste the Local Difference.

Sara Hardy Farmer’s Market

June 30, July 4 & July 7, 7:30 a.m.–noon
This farmer’s market is THE best place to discover locally grown agricultural products. Find everything from produce and baked goods to flowers and plants. The first 100 people to arrive at the market on festival days will get $5 toward their farmer’s market purchase.

Very Cherry Flying Pancake Breakfast

June 30, 8–11 a.m.
What’s better than eating pancakes? Eating pancakes for a cause! Support the Kevin Copeland Memorial Scholarship while indulging in Chris Cake’s pancakes. Top it all off with Herkner’s Cherry Topping and Out of the Woods Maple Syrup.

Cherry Farmer’s Market at Festival Open Space

June 30–July 7, 10 a.m.–11 p.m.
This is the event for the cherry obsessed! Stop by this daily market for the best cherries from local farmers and vendors.

Flight Deck

June 30 & July 1, 12:45–4 p.m.
This year the National Cherry Festival Flight Deck will give premium viewing as the U.S. Navy Blue Angels take to the skies. Enjoy a picnic-style lunch while watching the air show over the bay.

Indigo View Air Show

June 30 & July 1
Watch the Blue Angels from Hotel Indigo’s rooftop bar while enjoying lunch and drinks. These are some of the best seats in town for the air show!

Blues, Brew & BBQ

June 30, 1–4 p.m.
As the U.S. Navy Blue Angels fly overhead, make sure to stop by the Hagerty Center to grab a micro-brew and sample the finest BBQ around. Tickets to the event include two adult beverages and food.

Great American Picnic

July 1, 1–4 p.m.
Enjoy cherry-inspired picnic food at the Hagerty Center while watching the U.S. Navy Blue Angels as they perform over West Grand Traverse Bay. There will also be outdoor games for the kids and fun for the whole family!

Princess Tea

July 5, 10:30 a.m.–noon
Come dressed to the nines for tea time with the National Cherry Queen and her Royal Court. Sip tea and cherry lemonade and sample a bakery buffet.

Depot Neighborhood Picnic

July 5, noon–3 p.m.
Join the National Cherry Festival, Habitat for Humanity, GTR, The Filling Station, and Traverse Area District Library at Hull Park for a neighborhood picnic. There will be live music, good food, and family-friendly activities for all to enjoy. All proceeds will benefit local charities.
