You’re invited to get outside, be neighborly, and hang out at The Little Fleet. It’s a Winter Social!
Michigan House is stopping by Traverse City on its way to South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. The group of musicians, artists, business leaders, and policymakers is presenting the Winter Social at The Little Fleet featuring Michigan-made music, food, beer, and spirits on Saturday, February 17 from 3–11 p.m.
Michigan House is spearheaded by Creative Many Michigan, the statewide organization focused on Michigan’s creative economy, and they’ll be joined by partners such The Little Fleet, Milkweed, L. Mawby Winery, Farmhaus Cider, Grey Skies Distillery, and all of Traverse City’s favorite breweries including Right Brain, Filling Station, Rare Bird, Workshop, Brewery Terra Firma, Jolly Pumpkin, North Peak, Earthen Ales, Hop Lot, Old Mission Brewing, Monkey Fist Brewery, and Shorts Brewing.
These breweries will all be served under one tent, coming together for a Winter Social. $1 from each beer purchased will be donated to Pour for More. Oh, and look out for the Hot Poked Beer—the beer equivalent of a s’more—which is warmed and caramelized with a hot iron rod poker.
The cocktail menu includes hot winter warmers, hot toddies, coffee cocktails, and other Little Fleet creations. There will be a special food menu from Milkweed and a visit from Glendale Avenue (we hear they’re cooking up an incredible mac and cheese).
Musical acts from around the state are traveling to perform at the Winter Social. They include Detroit acts Onefreq and the NLR Experience, Grand Rapids band Major Murphy, DJ Adrian Butler (A/B), and local band Turbo Pup. Tickets are on sale now at MyNorthTickets.com with proceeds from the event going to help Michigan House bring Michigan music to SXSW. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 day of and include two beers or one winter cocktail.
Michigan House will be activating at SXSW for the fourth consecutive year this March. It’s designed to create a touch/taste/feel experience that’s a testament to a thriving Great Lakes State. It will bring four days of events, speakers, panel discussions, workshops, music, and more to SXSW’s international stage.
