This January, Shanty Creek Resorts is celebrating those trying something new with two popular specials—Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month, a national initiative to introduce new people to the sport, and Discover Michigan Skiing, an affordable introduction to the sports of skiing and snowboarding.

To commemorate Learn to Ski & Snowboard month, with every ski lesson given in January, Shanty Creek is offering a free season pass to all kids 8 and under.

Or, take advantage of Discover Michigan Skiing. The program includes a beginner lesson, ski or snowboard rental equipment, and a beginner-area ski lift pass or cross-country trail pass. The Discover Michigan Skiing program is $20 for cross-country skiing, $35 for downhill skiing, and $35 for snowboarding, and is open to everyone 7 years and older.
