Each year, the Home Builders Association of the Grand Traverse Area (HBAGTA) hosts the Parade of Homes to showcase beautiful remodels and new homes in Northern Michigan, including Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau counties. The event is a great way for homeowners to get ideas for their own landscaping and home projects.

The Remodeled Homes Tour took place last weekend, June 10–11, and drew a huge crowd of spectators (view the homes here). But you still have time to participate in The Parade of New Homes, June 15–18 (Thursday–Saturday from 12–8 p.m. and Sunday 11–4 p.m.) Pre-sale tickets cost $15 and regular tickets are $18.

Sneak Peek!

Home 11, Bay Area Contracting
This welcoming home was envisioned with the idea to celebrate family and friends. The home sits next to West Grand Traverse Bay and is surrounded by an orchard with a view of a neighboring vineyard. Dean Adams, head of Bay Area Contracting, along with senior designer Marty Rhein, took this into account when creating the modern home. A mix of textures throughout the home combines vintage and natural design elements with a modern flair.

The exterior of the house mimics a “painter’s palette” of field rocks, barn doors, and tree bark. Inside, find a unique gunmetal-finished steel fireplace, rustic barn beams, wide-plank white oak floors, a kitchen with dark brown granite and brick tile, and contemporary rimless windows. Other home finishes include a mudroom, huge walk-in pantry, a wet bar, three-car garage, and a billiard room. The home’s neutral palette allows the homeowner to use their own color and style without being restricted to one color scheme.  You don’t want to miss this home! Located at 8192 Peninsula Drive, Traverse City.
