From food trucks and quick eats to barbecue on the bay and tea fit for a princess, these National Cherry Festival 2017 food events have you covered. Support local farmers and vendors by hitting one of the week’s many farmers markets. Look no further for cold brews and old fashioned ice cream for the cherry on top of your National Cherry Festival week.
July 1 & July 8, 7 a.m.–noon
Brunch options will be adjacent to the market by Harvest & Blue Heron—featuring fresh local produce directly sourced from the farmers at market as well as the local butcher just steps away, Maxbauer Specialty Meat Market.
July 1, 5, 8, 7:30 a.m.–noon
The Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market is THE best place to find locally grown agricultural products. Local produce, baked goods, flowers and plants. The first 100 people to go to the market on days during the festival will get $5 off of their farmer’s market purchase compliments of the National Cherry Festival.
July 1, 8–11 a.m.
Nothing starts the week better than a good breakfast served up with locally sourced Herkner’s Original Cherry Topping and Out of the Woods Farm maple syrup! Join The Festival Foundation and the amazing Chris Cakes for pancakes, sausage, coffee, milk and juice.
July 2, 12:45–4 p.m.
This year the National Cherry Festival Flight Deck will give Festival premium viewing as the U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds take to the skies! Enjoy a picnic-style lunch while watching the air show over the bay.
July 2, 1–4 p.m.
Watch the USAF Thunderbirds as they perform over West Grand Traverse Bay enjoying cherry-inspired picnic food. In addition to the excellent food; there will also be outdoor games for the kids and fun for the whole family!
July 3, 9–11 a.m.
Great company … great breakfast. The announcement of the 2017 Lifetime Leadership Award. $5 fee per person, reservations are required. Please contact the Traverse City Senior Center at 231-922-4911 by Friday, June 30 to make reservations.
