TRAVERSE CITY: Press On Juice is one of 12 companies from around the state of Michigan that has been selected to receive the Michigan Small Business Development Center’s (MI-SBDC) Best Small Business Award. These companies were chosen from over 5,500 small businesses that the Michigan SBDC provided with confidential counseling in 2016. The Best Small Business award recipients were identified based on their success in creating jobs, increasing sales, improving their business strategy and their involvement with the Michigan SBDC. The recipients will be honored on May 4 in Lansing at the 13th annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business Awards Gala.

“This year’s awardees have a significant impact on Michigan’s economy and truly represent the success achieved through a strong SBDC consultant and client partnership,” says Keith Brophy, State Director of the Michigan SBDC. “We are excited to take the opportunity to celebrate their success and cheer them on as they continue growing their businesses.”

[Here’s how Press On Juice got started]

Press On Juice produces a line of cold-pressed, unpasteurized juice blends made from a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Each serving is packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and enzymes that aren’t destroyed or altered by the pasteurization process common in nearly all commercially produced juices. Their menu continues to expand to include fresh, raw food items such as salads, sandwiches and snacks. Press On Juice produces all of its products right in Traverse City at their 8th Street facility.

“The SBDC has been an essential part of the successful development and growth of Press On Juice. We received countless hours of expert guidance that were truly invaluable,” says Kris Rockwood, owner of Press On Juice.
