The Traverse Area District Library is debuting design plans for a reimagined Preschool Interactive Learning Area in the Youth Services department. Library patrons, friends, and community members are invited to attend the Funding Future Readers Celebration in the TADL Main Library on Friday, April 7.

Visitors will experience the library in a whole new way. The evening will feature catered hors d’oeuvres and beverages, a cash bar, live musical entertainment, special Volunteer of the Year award recognition, live and silent auctions, plus a special preview and fundraising kick-off for the new Preschool Interactive Learning Area.

“We have so many great things happening at the library, and we want to celebrate with our community of supporters and to share some of the new improvements we are planning for our early readers and their families,” says TADL Director, Gail Parsons.

The Preschool Interactive Learning Area is the third phase of recent major improvements to the Youth Services department. This redesigned space will provide generations of Grand Traverse area children and their families a whimsical hands-on early literacy destination to foster a love of learning and literature. See some of the changes in this MyNorth video!

All proceeds from the Live and Silent auctions will support the new area. Auction items include rare and collectible books (with some signed and first editions), an array of children’s literature figurines, fine artwork, and many once-in-a-library donor opportunities. A list of live auction items is available on the TADL website.

The Funding Future Readers Celebration begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 7, at the Main Library (610 Woodmere Ave., Traverse City). Admission for the event is $45 per person. Advance tickets are encouraged and may be purchased at MyNorthTickets.com or at the Main Library Service Desk. More details at www.tadl.org/celebration.
