Michigan’s only professional ballet company will be making a very special trip to Northern Michigan Saturday, February 18. Twenty members of the Grand Rapids Ballet Company will be in Manistee for a one-night performance at the Ramsdell Regional Center for Performing Arts. This is one of the few times the company has traveled to the area for a performance and is not be missed!

The night will feature excerpts from a recent production done by the company, “Romeo and Juliet,” including Juliette’s solo after learning of her parents’ plans for her to marry Paris, the ball where Romeo and Juliette first meet and the famous balcony scene. Choreographer Mario Radacovsky takes an innovative approach to his work and has implemented the use of mannequins for this production to represent those who stand idly by and have little to no change on their surroundings.

Tickets are $15–$35. Get yours at MyNorthTickets.com!

There will also be excerpts from the company’s current production “Black & White: Swan Lake.” Radacovsky’s interpretation of the original production is a completely modernized take on the classic story we all love. Included excerpts will be the iconic scene with “floating” swans and the magical pas de deux between Odette and Seigfried.

This season marks the 46th year the company has artistically been producing works of art for the stage.
