White Pine Stampede

Hundreds will compete in Michigan’s longest and oldest point-to-point cross country ski race. The annual White Pine Stampede stretches over the hills and through the woods of Antrim County while raising funds for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Races are 10k, 20k and 50k.

At the conclusion of the event, join other participants at the Shanty Creek Summit Center for the Short’s Brewing Post Race Cool Down. A sampling of Short’s products along with snacks will be available for everyone while they hang with friends and family and view a slideshow of the day’s events.  Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. The Short’s Brewing Awards Ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30 p.m., in the same room.

Slush Cup

The Slush Cup has been one of Michigan’s most popular winter events for over 40 years. Watch the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat as skiers and riders attempt to cross an icy 60′ pond. Some take it to another level with crazy costumes. Other events include a frozen fish toss, snow shovel racing and a seal slide—all part of the traditional wild and crazy weekend. Ski + Stay packages start at $104/night. The Slush Cup is limited to 80 people, so register early!

  • 9 a.m.–1 p.m.: Registration | Ivan’s Stage
  • 11 a.m.: Seal Slide | Face Race Shack
  • Noon: Frozen Fish Toss | Face Race Shack
  • 1 p.m.: Shovel Races | Face Race Shack
