The Old Town Playhouse Young Company presents the fish-out-of-water musical comedy, Elf, the Musical, Jr. by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin with music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin.

Based on the beloved holiday film, this production tells the story of Buddy, a young orphan, who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. Raised as an elf, he is unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size causes him to face the truth. Then Buddy embarks on a journey to find his birth father, discover his true identity and help New York City find the true meaning of Christmas.

With a cast of forty young actors ages 9 to 18, plus additional students working on costumes, lighting, and sound, the Young Company will give the entire family a delightful warm-up to the holiday season. Plus, due to popular demand, they have added an additional performance on Saturday afternoon, November 12.

All performances will be on the Old Town Playhouse MainStage at 148 East Eighth Street, at the corner of Eighth and Cass, in Traverse City. Times and dates are as follows:

Thursday, November 10, 7:00 p.m.
Friday, November 11, 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, November 12, both 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, November 13, 2:00 p.m.
