There’s no better (or more fun) way to capture memories of Thanksgiving than these turkey handprint placemats. Not only will your family enjoy creating this Thanksgiving craft, but they will also love the festive table settings for your turkey day dinner.
- Construction paper (for background)
- Red construction paper (for turkey)
- Two coffee filters
- Markers (black/brown)
- Self laminating sheets
- Fall colored leaves (optional)
Step 1: Take two coffee filters and trace hands with pencil.
Step 2: Cut out hands and glue onto construction paper. Cut the thumb off of one handprint.
Step 3: Color hands brown. Make a black eye on the thumb of one handprint.
Step 4: Cut out a wattle (turkey neck) and a beak out of the construction paper and glue onto thumb near the eye. Then glue hands onto the paper (Make sure the fingers are spread out to appear feather-like!)
Step 5: Collect beautiful colored leaves to glue onto the construction paper background.
Step 6: Place the construction paper onto the self laminating sheets (both front and back).
