BAY HARBOR: The 2nd Annual Sparkle returns to the Inn at Bay Harbor of Bay Harbor, Michigan, with expanded event offerings on Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22. This one-of-a-kind event exclusively celebrates Michigan sparkling wines and features five popular vineyards – L. Mawby, Black Star Farms, Bowers Harbor, St. Julian and newly opened, Rudbeckia Winery.

Several varietals of sparkling wine will be uncorked on Friday, October 21 during the Sparkle tasting event from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Sagamore Room. Enthusiasts can mingle with vintners and nosh on complementing hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door and include a commemorative Sparkle champagne flute.

Saturday features a Flavor Profile Presentation from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Inn’s Arlington Room where guests can learn how food parings enhance the flavors of sparkling wine. Twenty-eight-year wine-industry veteran and certified wine specialist, Bill Borre, will lead the insightful tasting process. Borre is also a wine educator at the Les Cheneaux Culinary School of Hessel, Michigan, and the Great Lakes Culinary Institute in Traverse City. Tickets are $25.

Saturday evening, delight in an exquisitely paired five-course L. Mawby Sparkling Wine Dinner from 7 to 9 p.m. in The Sagamore Room. The dinner is hosted by Larry Mawby, founder of national recognized L. Mawby Winery of Suttons Bay, who also was recently featured in the documentary series “Wine Warriors” airing on A&E’s FYI network. Tickets are $80, inclusive of tax and gratuity.
