October 8: Harvest at the Commons – Third Annual Groundwork Center FUNdraiser. Traverse City’s own Harvest Restaurant will prepare an amazing family-style feast featuring the finest ingredients from the region’s farms. Indie-folk-rock band, The Crane Wives, is set to perform during the celebration that marks another year of working to protect the environment, strengthen the economy and build community. October 13: Shakespeare Reading Group – This group is open to all who have a love of Shakespeare and his writings. Meetings are once per month to read from the works of The Bard. they are strictly for fun and no homework will be assigned, no test given. 7 p.m., Ludington Area Center for the Arts.
