Fountain Point’s Summer Concert Series continues with one of most innovative artists of the summer, Cedric Burnside, along with Trenton Ayers, in Lake Leelanau August 9. Cedric and childhood friend and guitarist, Ayers, have made a name for themselves by bringing the sound of the Mississippi Blues around the world. Headed by Cedric Burnside, four-time winner of the Blues Music Award’s “Drummer of the Year” award and regarded by many musicians as one of the best drummers performing today, The Cedric Burnside Project is a must-see this August.

Tickets to the Cedric Burnside Project are available on MyNorthTickets.com.

The Cedric Burnside Project aims to keep Mississippi Hill Country Blues alive by sharing it across the country and honoring the past while looking toward the future. Their latest album, Descendants of Hill Country, was nominated for a Grammy for “Best Blues Album of the Year” and embodies the intensely charged, rhythmic style that made the project known innovators.

The lawn opens at 6:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on August 9. Youth ages 15 and under are free. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy great music, food, and beautiful views of Lake Leelanau!
