Festival on the Bay is hosted in Petoskey and includes summer events such as “chalk the walk” and the popular “silent disco.” As part of the weekend’s festivities, the YMCA of Northern Michigan is hosting its second annual YMCA Color Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. on August 20.
Participants in this event can walk or run through bursts of eco-friendly, color-based corn starch before hitting the finish line (be sure to wear a white T-shirt!). Runners can also get awards during the run for qualifications from best dressed male and female over 18, to oldest participant and best dressed group. The YMCA Color Fun Run is an un-timed event perfect for exercising with family and friends while being enjoyably messy, plus your participation directly supports the Y!
The run will start on the Little Traverse Wheelway at the end of the waterfront near Lime Kiln Pond. Parking options available at Demmer Wellness Pavilion, Sunset Park, or at the waterfront.
You can register online or, registration is available on the day of walk/run starting at 7:30 a.m.

*$8 for each family participant over four. Children under 5 are free.
