Biking

Spindrift Cyclesports and Trailhead Bike Shop are both located in downtown Ludington. The full-service bikes shops sell, repair and rent bikes of all types for all ages.

You can find tons of places to bike in Ludington, but some of the best are Ludington State Park and the Manistee National Forest. Over 330 miles of trails are available in the Manistee National Forest, which boasts thousands of lakes and miles of sparkling rivers and streams. Within Ludington State Park you’ll find 1.5 miles of paved bike trails. Along this path, woods, marshes, sand dunes and the shores of Hamlin Lake, will buzz by.

Camping

Ludington offers ample campsites so you won’t have to leave the outdoors. Some of the most popular camping spots in the area are the Buttersville Park Campground, Lakeview Campsite, Mason County Campground, and the Ludington State Park Campground. Each of these sites offers a unique atmosphere and camping experience. You can fall asleep and wake up immersed in all that is natural Northern Michigan.

Dune Riding

The dunes that surround Ludington offer a beautiful landscape. There are two great places aimed at helping you explore them: Mac Woods Dune Rides and Parrot’s Landing Jeep Rentals & Tours. Mac Woods offers a seven-mile tour, while Parrot’s Landing offers three options—rental, day tour, or sunset tour. Each of these choices is sure to provide an exciting day spent outdoors.

Fishing

Set beside Lake Michigan amidst a breathtaking number of rivers and smaller lakes, fishing is a great way to pass the day. Some of Ludington’s most popular fishing spots include Country Haven Resort Motel, Huron-Manistee National Forest, Ludington KOA Campgrounds and Victory Township Park. Fishing in Ludington is an equally rewarding and beautiful way to pass the time.

Golfing

Grab your golf clubs and stroll through the rolling hills of Ludington. Hemlock Golf Club and Lincoln Hills Golf Club offer a couple of classics at once: the Northern Michigan outdoors and a great game of golf. These courses are always kept in pristine condition while still managing to blend in with the natural beauty of their surrounding Ludington landscape.

Hiking

Ludington’s forests and dunes are often best explored on foot. Hiking in Ludington is a beautiful adventure, especially at All Seasons Resort, Huron-Manistee National Forest and Pine River Paddlesports Center. Each of these spots is the perfect place to wander, fully absorbed in the Northern Michigan outdoors.
